Hole in your soul; latest exhibition at UCL

Monitor Gallery, level 8, ADM at IOE UCL from 22nd October - 5th November, 9.30-5pm

Hole in sole art piece in the show 2018

This exhibition is a collection of recent works by Andy Ash which investigates the relationship between the brain, the body and art making; a kind of dialogue with his neurological self. Through a series of ink drawings, sculptures and objects Andy creates a space to ask questions about the relationship between, anxiety, depression, dis(connection), dyslexia and creativity. The work is interested in interior and exterior spaces, the individual and collective, the dark, light and grey areas and how these competing aspects connect to form a way of seeing and a way of being.

Andy teaches on the PGCE A&D, MA M&G and MA A&D programmes at UCL IOE in the Art, Design and Museology dept. As an artist/teacher he is interested in Visual Art Practice as Research and trans-disciplinary collaborations between artists and scientists and how these can generate new knowledge.
