About this CPD:
This FREE CPD is part of the Royal Ballet & Opera’s award-winning Design programme, a curriculum-led teacher development programme designed for school teachers. The RBO team will take you through techniques for teaching stage design to build your students’ research, creative problem-solving sketching, model-making and prototyping skills.
During this CPD training, you will:
• Learn practical, easy-to-implement warm-up and engagement activities to encourage creativity.
• Explore the building blocks of design and learn how to use them to meet the Design & Technology curriculum.
• Try out practical activities that guide your students from the initial creative brief to final design.
• Be introduced to the RBO Schools Design classroom resources.
The day is led by a team of Royal Ballet & Opera designers and is suitable for:
• Generalist classroom teachers or subject leads in Key stage 1 – 3 (key-stage-specific approaches are applied through the session)
• Teachers who are new to teaching design
• Teachers who are looking to brush up their skills
Supporting Access for All Schools
RBO Schools events are offered free of charge to support teachers and students in accessing high-quality creative learning experiences. These opportunities are made possible through the generous funding of the Arts Council England, the Mohn Westlake Foundation, and other charitable donors who share our commitment to creative education.
As a charity, each event carries a real cost to deliver. If you or your school is unable to attend an event you’ve booked, we kindly ask that you log in to your account and cancel your booking. Doing so allows us to reallocate places to other schools and ensure that every student has the chance to benefit.
Thank you for helping us make creative learning accessible to as many young people as possible.
A big thank you to Sandra Dartnell and the RBO team. If you are interested in future w/shops in collaboration with NSEAD & RBO where you live in UK please contact NSEAD to find out what is on in your region
