I’m pleased to announce that I‘ve been included in the first addition of the brand new Brighton Art Socials zine ‘Art Now’ launched this week. I’m showing b/w photographic stills from the Winter Sculpture Park performance in Aprill and recent self-portrait ink drawings.
Other contemporary Brighton & Hove based artists included; Zoe Bailey, Neil Pavey, Nina Garstang, Fanny Fielding Art, Carrie Stanley, Emerald aka Goldtopgirl, Amanda Houchen, Dorothy Max, Alison McKenna, Bradley at exploding appendix, Zoe Toolan and Billy Houlston. The zine is a low-tech, self-published project, very old school punk in nature, and brings together work from members of Art Socials - a small but growing artist-led group who meet regualrly at Puck Art Space (Severn Dials). We came together in response to the increasing challenges facing visual arts in Brighton - offering each other support, an exchange of ideas and opportunities to develop collaborative projects (like this!). This zine is one of our first public ventures, and we’re hoping to share it with curators, galleries, buyers and arts professionals across the city and beyond. I’d be delighted to send you a copy for consideration and review, ideally for you to then publicise our work.
